APSCo and Vacancysoft

December 2016

Overall, vacancy volumes are up compared on last year, with activity having increased by 34%.

When taking a closer look at professions across England and Wales, IT professionals remain the top profession by vacancy over both 2017 and for the 2018 so far. If the trend for more IT professional vacancies continues, 2018 will see a 28.3% rise in vacancies compared to 2017. Is this a sign of the UK’s strong tech economy?

The strongest performing industry in England and Wales for 2018 so far is TMT, which is maintaining it’s position as the top industry in terms of vacancy activity. If this trend continues in the second half of 2018, the industry could be looking at a 35% rise in vacancies, which is a great sign for the professionals working in the area.
