Vacancysoft / APSCo Regional Report April 2016 – South East featured in BCL Legal’s blog

May 12, 2016 | In the press

We are delighted to announce that the report we published analysing South East trends has been featured in BCL Legal’s blog.

Vacancysoft regional data showed that IT and Telecomms were the busiest sectors. We also found an unusual proportion of legal vacancies and concluded that the South East market has a higher saturation of law firms than other regions.

Craig Wilson, Senior In-house Associate, stated that our data reflects BCL’s Legal experience in this region, commenting that “legal recruitment has been buoyant”, stressing the point that “IT/Telco sector has been extremely busy in the Thames Valley”. He also noticed the higher demand for IT lawyers, which led to some labour force changes resulting in “slower recruitment processes, increased interim opportunities and a greater risk of candidates being bought back by their current employer.”

Finally, Craig concluded that the legal sector is expected to grow irrespective of economic risks associated with Brexit.

Vacancysoft will keep monitoring vacancy data across the various sectors, professions and regions and will share our insights and observations on a regular basis.
