AI is the topic that is seemingly all around us, with that, this week we hosted a session with Mercury CRM where we profiled how it is now starting to change the job market.

Key takeaways for people unable to attend include:

• 2025 was a record year for AI funding, with there being nearly double the prior year, with Fintech being the biggest sector for investment
• The UK remains at the forefront of funding globally, and now with the Government’s industrial strategy, there is also significant investment across industry.
• Some sectors are expanding due to AI, others are shrinking. For example, the success of UK Fintechs globally have meant they are now leading internationally. In contrast, the media and creative sector is going through what can only be described as unprecedented disruption.
• Increasingly the question is, as workflows become automated, how will the organization of tomorrow resource itself? Is the classic pyramid structure now defunct? If so, how will businesses restructure? Will we see an hourglass style structure as businesses still hire entry level but cut out mid tier managers?
