Accountancy vacancies surged 18.5% year-on-year but remain below levels seen in the previous three years.

Q1 2024 marked the year’s busiest period, with a 76.2% surge in accountancy vacancies compared to Q4 2023. March saw the peak, recording 1,399 vacancies.

Tax vacancies increased 50% compared to 2023, surpassing 2022 levels by an additional 6.7% overall.

Across regions, the West Midlands saw a 28.2% increase in vacancies, with Birmingham surging 30.5% YoY.

PwC leads the top companies list with an impressive 108% year-on-year vacancy growth.
